Whats your favorite food?

I like all food so it is easier to ask me what I don't prefer to eat. That would be eggplant, zucchini, and squash, except pumpkin with lots of sugar.

What do you do for fun?

Hang out with my wife and kids. Occasionally play a game of golf or play a video game.

Whats your favorite bible story/verse?

Tough question because I love the bible and there are so many great stories and verses. If I narrow to just one story and verse, I would say the story of

Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah better know by their Babylonian names, Shadrack, Meshach, and AbedNego. Where they defy King Nebuchadnezzar decree to bow down to his golden image.

Their statement to the king in Daniel 3:16-18, is an awesome statement of faith and commitment to God. It says,

Daniel 3:16-18(NCV)

16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, saying, "Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves to you.17 If you throw us into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from the furnace. He will save us from your power, O king.18 But even if God does not save us, we want you, O king, to know this: We will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up."

How long have you been attending Crosswind?

Since Easter Sunday, 2000. Our first day it felt like we were with family and friends, even though we didn't know anyone when we arrived. We very much enjoy being a part of the Crosswind family.

Whats your favorite food?

I very much enjoy many types of food, but probably my favorite is pizza.

What do you do for fun?

The hobby I enjoy the most is boardgaming. Unlike many activities, it's a hobby that you can sit down with one or several of your friends (or people that you've just met) and fellowship with, while working together or against one another to solve whatever puzzle the game presents. If you're interested in learning more about this, and want to discover what there is besides Monopoly or Risk, ask me....

Whats your favorite bible story/verse?

There are so many to choose from. I especially love the gospels and Acts and Genesis as far as the "stories" go. But one verse in particular that I especially take comfort from is 1 Corinthians 10:13 -- "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape, so that you are able to bear it."

This is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, I take strength from this verse, knowing that whatever I face, God would not have allowed it if I wasn't capable of standing up to it, and that God has provided me with an escape hatch. However, if I sin anyway, then this verse lets me know that it's my fault. I can't claim that the temptation was too much for me to handle.

The other verse that I take the most comfort in is Proverbs 16:31.
