Our History, Mission, and Statement of Faith

We would love to meet you!

We are Crosswind Community Church

From humble beginnings in a small house to becoming a thriving community of faith, Crosswind has always been committed to serving God and growing together. What began as a small group gathering in a house next to our current property has blossomed into a vibrant church family, with a rich history dating back to 1957.

In 1957, the church received its first acre of land on 10th St. West, and the current building was completed in 1975. Over the years, we’ve expanded to meet the needs of our growing congregation, with the addition of modular buildings in the 1990s and the purchase of over two acres behind the church in 2009.

In the year 2000, the church underwent a revitalization and was relaunched as Crosswind Community Church, embracing a renewed vision to impact the community and the world for Christ.

As a proud charter member of Grace International Churches and Ministries, Crosswind remains dedicated to building God’s kingdom. We are excited to continue expanding and growing as the Lord directs us, reaching out to new generations with the message of hope, love, and salvation.

Join us as we continue this incredible journey of faith and community. There’s a place for you here!

The Church

We believe that unity regarding the foundational doctrines clearly taught in the Holy Bible is absolutely essential. At the same time, we also affirm that we must accept one another in the love of Jesus, recognizing that there are different styles and expressions of worship We are all members of the Body of Christ and are called to build His Kingdom in harmony and Agape love.

Verses

John 17:11; Romans 12:11-13; Romans 14:1-23; I Corinthians 12:4-6; 27-28; Ephesians 4:1-6

The Savior

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in HIs virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

Sanctification

We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. Salvation is by faith alone through grace alone. Both justification and sanctification are the works of the Holy Spirit in those who trust in the name of Jesus

Verses

John 3:5-6; 16-17; Titus 3:5-6; Ephesians 2:8; Galatians 3:2-3; I Peter 1:2

The Sanctity of Marriage

We believe that marriage and family are institution ordained by the Lord God Himself from the very beginning of human history and these are sacred institutions. Marriage is between ONE man and ONE woman. Any other definition of marriage is contrary to the clear teachings of the Holy Bible and hence against the expressed Will of God.

Verses

Genesis 1:27-28; Matthew 5: 27-28; Proverbs 6:25-26; I Corinthians 6:9-10, 18; I Thessalonians 4:3-8

Communion and Baptism

Jesus never asked His disciples to remember His birth. But He did instruct them to remember His death and resurrection. He gave the church two visible symbols (called “ordinances”) as reminders of His death. These two ordinances are Water Baptism and Communion. Communion is an object lesson that represents a great spiritual truth for believers.

Crosswind has an open communion table (you do not have to be a member). All we ask is that a person be a believer and receive communion with reverence. To take communion and not be a follower of Christ is to deceive yourself you are okay with God. The deception could keep one from having a genuine relationship with Christ and have eternal consequences. Typically, we take communion together on the first Sunday of the month.

Baptism in water is a public testimony of one’s faith in Jesus. At Crosswind, we wait until our children are old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism before we baptize them. Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior should obey Jesus and be Baptized as Jesus was baptized. Baptism does not save you. You are saved by your faith in Jesus’ atoning work on the cross and His resurrection. The purpose is to confess your commitment to Christ publicly.
